With the winter season quickly approaching, the teams at Ice Watch have been working hard to prepare for what the colder weather will bring us this year.
We have been busy recruiting new team members and extending our operations partner base to provide our national service to the highest of standards. Building relationships with more gritting and snow clearance experts the country has been a vital part of this process.
With the first orders of our marine gritting salt ordered, we will soon begin providing services to clients up and down the country to make sure everyone is ready for winter.
Midlands and East Anglia Operations Manager, Stewart Tompkins, has been keeping busy to ensure that no matter how cold this year’s weather will be, Ice Watch is ready to support its’ customers.
‘My responsibilities as an Operations Manager are demanding. I have to ensure that our contractors and staff members have the required training, work efficiently and their equipment is up to the Ice Watch standards. As we begin working on new sites as well as customers who have been with us for several years, it is important that our operators have the knowledge and equipment they need to support our clients in the upcoming winter season, to deal with each sites varying needs. Following a big year of growth for Ice Watch, we have been recruiting contractors in new areas of the UK which will allow us to support more businesses, residents and public spaces throughout the winter season.’
As a result of this growth, Ice Watch have gained several new members of staff to help support the team. Peter Connew will be a new Operations Manager, taking care of the Ice Watch partners based in the South. His responsibilities will be to manage operator routes, making sure sites are being serviced correctly and ensuring his operators have the necessary equipment.
Laurelle Campbell, a Meteorology graduate, will be supporting Timo Strom, our in-house meteorologist. Some of Laurelle’s main duties will include assisting with daily forecasts, managing the daily operational processes and maintaining the salt stocks through the winter season.
