Karen Marsden: Contract Coordinator
Can you tell me a little bit about yourself and your background?
I spent 35 years working with BT doing various roles helping to expand my knowledge and skills within Operations before joining Idverde as Sales and contract co-ordinator Dec 2024. I enjoy utilising my support and communication skills to build trust and teamwork which I enjoy. Creating solutions to problems is a good way to gain job satisfaction. I enjoy walking / cycling / badminton and travelling whenever possible.
What is a typical day like for you in your role at Ice Watch?
I currently support all Operational contractor / Team needs regarding processes and day to day running of Icewatch. The role varies during winter – summer and every day is different. I continue to work hard throughout the seasons with the Team to make sure the Operational needs run as smoothly as possible and help make Business Improvements where achievable.
What are some of the Ice Watch projects or achievements that you’re most proud of, and why?
I have helped make an impact in transformation and sustainability within the Team moving to a better way of working ready for next season.
What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out in your field or pursuing a similar passion?
Job satisfaction can be very fulfilling when you know you have helped in making a difference. Be open in brainstorming and fully involved in all areas of your role. Learn as much as you can and build relationships to help have an impact in the growth of the company and your own learning. Always be willing to gain new skills and knowledge.
